South Korea with it's capital city Seoul has a size of about 100000 square kilometers, so about 39000 square miles. There are about 50 million inhabitants living in South Korea. So South Korea has a very high density of population. But most of the people in South Korea live in the larger cities of the country and of course in it's capital city Seoul.

If you want to go horseback riding in South Korea, you will find very different places. The climate of South Korea is continental in general. You have also subtropical climate in some valleys in the southern area of South Korea. The temperatures during summer are about 22 to 29 degrees Celsius, during spring and autumn you will have about 10 to 16 degrees Celsius. But during summer there is much precipitation, so we would recommend to go horseback riding in South Korea in spring and autumn. Since the year 2014, which was the year of the horse according to the chinese calendar, South Korea started investing in eco-tourism projects with a special focus on horseback riding. The country invested about 500 million US dollars to grow that kind of business. Especially the region around Seoul, the district of "Gyenoggi", was the target area of that eco-tourism project. There were riding schools and horse farms opened up and they got also good equipment and very professional facilities like indoor arenas, outdoor arenas, showjumping and race courses. So if you want to go horseback riding in South Korea you can either go for riding out to the countryside or learn horseback riding on a pretty high level. The riding schools in South Korea offer dressage lessons as well as showjumping equestrian lessons.

South Korea as a land border to North Korea on the norther side of the country. Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, is not far away from the border. On the west and south side, there are marvellous beaches. There are also many possibilities to go horseback riding on the beaches on the west and south side. Particularly on the east side of South Korea, the beaches are very steep and rocky. That is why they are not suitable for horseback riding on the beach.
