Ireland is a land of horsemen. The green island is ideal for long rides and also to do daylong or multiple days riding tours. Intermediate riders can ride in the field and be out with the horses on the shores of the island. For beginners there are numerous riding schools offering  riding lessons.

The most pleasant time to go horse riding is the summer. Temperatures from June to September are about 17 to 20 degrees Celsius in average. Especially June and July months are popular for horseback riding, because it rains the least in these months. On horseback you can here visit the numerous lakes and mountain ranges of Ireland. The longest river in Ireland is called Shannon and this river is 386 kilometers long. It is also a popular destination for horseback riders.
